Dan Miller is Senior Vice President, Entitlement & Public Affairs for the Irvine Company, a 150-year-old, privately held company known for its comprehensive focus on quality of life in the balanced, sustainable communities it has planned and developed throughout the State of California. In his current role, Mr. Miller is responsible for the development of strategic policies and processes addressing entitlement issues for the Company. In addition, Mr. Miller is also responsible for directing the Company’s public affairs unit which focuses on legislative and regulatory issues at the local, regional, state and federal levels and directing the Company’s community relations and corporate communication activities.
Mr. Miller joined the Irvine Company in April 2002 as vice president, Government Relations. In that role, he supported the Irvine Company’s initiatives by providing strategy and serving as a liaison with local elected officials and city, county and special district staff. Prior to that, he was a partner with Rosenow Spevacek Group providing consultant services to local government on financial, management and real estate matters, as well as serving as interim city manager for such cities as Dana Point, Laguna Niguel, Lake Forest, Yorba Linda and Chino Hills. Previously, Mr. Miller directed the Southern California state and local government services function for Deloitte & Touche, as the chief of staff for a member of the Orange County Board of Supervisors and oversaw the County of Orange’s legislative and budget analysis unit. Mr. Miller earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Cal State Fullerton. He also holds a master’s in public administration from the University of Southern California.
