John Wayne Airport anticipates a busier-than-normal travel period this holiday season. Last year, more than 350,000 passengers traveled through the Airport during the holidays. To ensure a smooth visit to the Airport, passengers are encouraged to plan ahead and arrive at the Airport 1-1/2 to 2 hours prior to their flight departure time. The Airport has released the following tips to make your travel season bright:
- As a reminder, gifts should not be wrapped as they are subject to search, even if placed in checked baggage.
- Snow globes are not allowed in carry-on luggage, but may be packed in checked baggage. See additional list of prohibited items and packing tips.
Travelers may also want to arrive a little early to take advantage of the many new venues to get a great meal, snack or a drink before catching their flights. Click here for a list of food and beverage options.
Know Where to Go: With the opening of Terminal C, some airlines have moved locations and passengers and visitors to JWA will want to be sure to park in the parking structure closest to the terminal they need.
Terminal A: Alaska, American, Delta, Continental and WestJet. Parking Structure A1 or A2.
Terminal B: US Airways and United. Parking Structure B2 or C.
Terminal C: Southwest and Frontier. Parking Structure B2 or C.
Parking Structures A1, A2, B2 and C are available at a rate of $20 per day and $2 per hour with the first 15 minutes being free for those dropping off and picking up passengers. Curbside Valet Parking is $30 per day and is located between Terminals A and B and in front of the new Terminal C on the departure (upper) level. Off-site Main Street Parking Lot is located at 1512 Main St., Irvine for $14 per day with free shuttle service to/from the Riley Terminal every 15 minutes.
