OCBC invites members and investors to join its Latino Educational Attainment Working Group. The group
deals with important workforce and education issues facing Orange County and California.

The LEA Working Group meets at OCBC the 1st Friday of each month from
9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Message from LEA's founder, Joe Ames:

“Forty-four percent of all public school students in Orange County are Latino. While there are many excellent Latino students, as a group these students have demonstrably lower test scores, graduation rates and college acceptance rates. If a company with 1,000 employees had 440 under-skilled workers, that company would be in trouble.

The LEA project is dedicated to empowering a key partner in the success of Latino students – their parents. After all, a fourth-grader today is an employee in 10 years.”

Chair: Dr. Juan Carlos Araque, Orange County United Way

Vice Chair: Joe Ames, Principal, Ames & Associates

OCBC Staff: Alicia Berhow, Director of Workforce Development
