On Friday Governor Jerry Brown appointed David A. Thompson as associate justice of the Fourth District Court of Appeal, Division Three, an appointment for which OCBC strongly advocated, along with the local legal community. Thompson, of Costa Mesa, served as a judge for the OC Superior Court since 1998, and previously was counsel at Morrison and Foerster LLP from 1988 to 1997. Thompson fills the vacancy created by the elevation of Kathleen O’Leary to Presiding Justice of the Fourth District Court of Appeal, Division Three. This position requires confirmation by the Commission on Judicial Appointments.
