Employer Developed Housing

Brief: Employers with sufficient resources and a defined strategy may take it upon themselves to develop housing units for use or purchase by their employees.

Description: Major employers or regional companies may find it advantageous to utilize their financial capital or real estate assets to produce housing intended for rental or purchase by their employees. The process will likely require coordination and cooperation among public agencies to ensure that a proposal is cost feasible. This type of housing product provides not only an affordable housing unit to the potential user, but possibly a convenient location for employees to live closer to their place of employment.
