OCBC POLICY WIN: BANNING RANCH PLAN GETS APPROVAL FROM CITY COUNCIL
After months of public hearings and meetings, the Newport Beach Banning Ranch Plan has been approved by the City Council. OCBC has been a firm supporter of the project since the beginning, which will convert nearly a quarter of the 401-acre property into a 1,375 home residential and commercial development. The remaining 75% of the land, except for an additional 290 acres of consolidated oil operations, will be set aside as open space and wildlife habitat. Over 70 speakers commented on the project, with the council echoing the sentiments of many of the speakers and OCBC's view, that this project is a win-win for residents. The project will allow the unused space to become useable, while also providing local residents with parks, trails and outdoor sporting venues. The project now must pass through several resource agencies as well as the California Coastal Commission. For more information contact Kate Klimow, Vice President of Government and Community Affairs.

ORANGE IS THE NEW GREEN: NUTRILITE: BEST OF NATURE. BEST OF SCIENCE.
Nutrilite puts its passion into manufacturing products that keep you healthy--and the environment too. Nutrilite's Agricultural Research Farm in Lakeview, California, is the primary location where farm researchers work to improve existing Nutrilite products as well as identify nutrients and active ingredients for new products and the development of organic farming practices.
The Lakeview farm is located across 111 acres of a prehistoric farm bed, which accumulated nutrient-rich sediment, contributing to the fertile topsoil. By feeding the soil with compost and by using carefully tested farming practices, Nutrilite creates a better soil structure--supplying crops with a vast array of nutrients. Nutrilite holds themselves to an 8-point basis that can be concluded as complete sustainable farming systems for all their farms throughout the United States.
