SUPERVISOR BILL CAMPBELL COMES OUT "WELL DONE" AFTER ROAST

BIZPAC's 3rd Annual Tribute & Roast of Supervisor Campbell was a not-to-miss event. Over 200 of Supervisor Campbell's friends and colleagues gathered on April 21 at The Disneyland Hotel to swap stories and poke fun at the man who has dedicated so many years to serving his community. "Aperitif (15% alcohol) emcee" Kate Klimow stole the show opening with a bang, later handing the reigns over to professional comedian Bob Zany, who had the crowd in stitches for the duration of the evening. Roasters Diane Harkey (Taco Belle), Jerry Amante (aka the missing Mario Brother), Nick Berardino (Shoot!), Curt Pringle (Dan Quail look-a-like), and the incomparable Larry Dick (his real last name is Richard-he prefers Dick) took turns highlighting Supervisor Campbell's love for fast food and photography. During his rebuttal Supervisor Campbell had his chance to respond, and made sure to end the evening by taking a photo of the audience taking a photo of him. Dead zones throughout the county plague small and medium size businesses, resulting in missed opportunities for economic growth. CLICK HERE to read more. Orange Catholic Foundation Conference on Business and Ethics

On April 14, Lucy Dunn attended the Orange Catholic Foundation's Conference on Business & Ethics featuring Dennis Prager, syndicated talk show host and student of ethics. One of his strongest themes was "Truth is the most important virtue. Lies are the mother modern evil." More important than compassion and love, he said. Ethical leadership in a secular society begins at the top. One story that intrigued his audience was asking, "Would you rather your child lie or smoke cigarettes?" CLICK HERE to read more.

ORANGE COUNTY HOUSING MARKET BEGINS HEALING

But now, we're finally seeing that Orange County is in the healing process and home buying is trending upward." With over 3,000 people moving out of Los Angeles County and into Orange County on a year-to-year basis, there is a great need for affordable housing in the Orange County market. ANAHEIM RESIDENTS ENCOURAGED NOT TO SIGN OUT-OF-TOWN PETITION

Anaheim has attracted the interest of NBA basketball but don't be misled by out of town signature gatherers who want to stop the NBA team from coming to Anaheim.  This proposal will benefit the community and will not use taxpayer dollars. Yet, just as we are excited about the prospect of the team moving to Anaheim, some in Sacramento are less than pleased to see them leave. These outsiders are trying to gather signatures from Anaheim residents to stop Anaheim from welcoming the team, signing a lease or other local financial arrangements that benefit us all. DO NOT SIGN THEIR PETITION. CLICK HERE to read more. For more information contact Kate Klimow, Vice President of Government Affairs.
