Vice President, Director of Political Affairs & Policy
Avygail Sanchez was born in Los Angeles, California and raised in the City of Huntington Park. She attended Francisco Bravo, M.D. Medical Magnet Senior High School in the community of Boyle Heights in Los Angeles and graduated in 1997.
She earned her Bachelor’s in Psychology from Mount Saint Mary’s University in Los Angeles in 2001 and her Master’s in Urban Planning from the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs in 2004. While studying at UCLA, Sanchez served as Field Deputy for former Los Angeles City Councilmember Antonio R. Villaraigosa.
During her nearly 15-year industry tenure, Avygail has worked for three major A/E firms helping to develop community engagement programs and business plans dedicated to strategic development for Los Angeles area.
In July 2014, Avygail joined Parsons Corporation and works from the company’s world headquarters located in Pasadena, California where she was recently promoted to Vice President, Director of Political Affairs & Policy.
Her policy & community engagement efforts have been focused throughout the Southern California area and agencies such as the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro), City of Los Angeles, County of Los Angeles, and LAWA, SBCTA, RCTC, OCTA, and Caltrans, to name a few. In her new role, she will interface with members of Congress, Governors, State Legislators, and municipal governments and trade associations.
She is a Riordan Leadership Institute (RLI) 2018 graduate, 2015 graduate of Leadership L.A., and an active member of the Latina Golfers Association (LGA). Currently, she serves as Member of the Mobility 21 Advisory Council; member of the Board of Directors of the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce; and Member of the Mayor’s Business Council to the U.S. Conference of Mayors.
