Matt Petteruto

Vice President of Economic Development

Matt Petteruto serves as Vice President of Economic Development for the Orange County Business Council.

Matt brings to OCBC a long history of active service in both the public and private sectors, as well as in association management.

Prior to joining OCBC, Matt served as chief of staff to Orange County Supervisor Bill Campbell. During his tenure as chief of staff to Supervisor Campbell, the County produced its Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy, a roadmap for government and the community to collaborate more effectively in ensuring Orange County’s economic prosperity. With Matt as his chief of staff and lead implementer, Supervisor Campbell championed the timely and efficient completion of public works projects, helping to address unemployment in the hardest hit construction industry.

Before joining Supervisor Campbell’s office, Matt served as director of public affairs for the Apartment Association of Orange County. Matt represented the legislative interests of the 3,000-member rental housing association and also managed the association’s political activities. He developed and implemented the association’s public relations program and authored columns which appeared in publications including the Orange County Register, California Real Estate Journal and Apartment News Magazine.

Prior to his time with the Apartment Association of Orange County, Matt served as a field representative for Assemblyman Ken Maddox. In his capacity as campaign manager, Matt oversaw the Assemblyman’s successful reelection to the state Legislature in 2000.

Matt holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from the University of California, Los Angeles.
