Steve Churm is Executive Vice President, Public Affairs with Irvine-based FivePoint Holdings, LLC, one of the largest developers of mixed-use master-planned communities in coastal California with projects in Orange and Los Angeles Counties and the San Francisco Bay area.  He oversees the company’s external and internal communications with a wide spectrum of stakeholders including the media, business and community leaders, partners and associates

Lori Ann Farrell Harrison
City Manager, City of Costa Mesa

On May 7, 2019, Lori Ann Farrell Harrison was appointed as the City Manager of Costa Mesa, becoming the first woman to hold the job in the city’s history. She is a local government expert with 29 years of experience in both the public and private sectors. With a population of 115,000 and a budget of nearly $170 million, Costa Mesa is the eighth largest city in Orange County and is home to the OC Fair & Event Center, South Coast Plaza and the Segerstrom Center for the Arts. Prior to becoming the City Manager of Costa Mesa, Lori Ann served the City of Huntington Beach for nine years as the Assistant City Manager, where she was the second in command at City Hall and worked with the City Manager to oversee the operations of the 4th largest City in Orange County, and the Chief Financial Officer.

 

Paulette Fischer
General Manager, The Waterfront Beach Resort

A lifetime resident of Huntington Beach, CA, Ms. Fischer began her career in hospitality immediately upon graduating from high school. A rare Orange County story of hard work, ingenuity, self-education, and moving steadily through every department throughout The Waterfront Beach Resort, a Hilton Hotel, Ms. Fischer possess the intimate knowledge and detail of every aspect of the hotel from the check-in of its very first guest in 1990! From that first day a spark was ignited that never wavered or dimmed, even thru some of the industry’s darkest hours such as the tragedy and shock of 9/11, a brutal recession, and the ever changing ways of doing “business and travel”.

 

Auruni Thakur
Workers Compensation Defense Attorney, Hanna Brophy

Aaruni Thakur has been practicing worker’s compensation defense, representing employers’ insurance, for 10 years. Aaruni grew up in Orange County and, after attending UCLA and USD Law, returned to Fullerton to start his family, legal practice, and public service career. Aaruni also serves as a Trustee on the Fullerton School District Board.
