On Tuesday September 29, 2015 Senator Jim Beall, Chairman of California Senate Transportation and Housing Committee, met with Orange County leaders to discuss the Legislature’s efforts to fund California’s on-going transportation infrastructure needs. The meeting was hosted by the Transportation Corridor Agencies (TCA) and Chairman Beall assured Orange County leaders of his commitment to regulatory reforms along with reasonable revenue enhancements. OCBC is one of a handful of business groups that have signaled support for revenue enhancements of measures like CEQA reform, Caltrans efficiencies, and a return of truck weight fees and Senator Beall told the OC group that he supports those reform measures.
OCBC will continue to advocate our revenue and reform principles outlined here
Earlier this year, Gov. Jerry Brown called a special session of the legislature to address the transportation deficiencies throughout the state. In September legislative leadership called for a conference committee made up of Democrat and Republican members from both the Assembly and Senate to try and devise a plan. Senator Beall will be a key leader in this important effort. OCBC appreciates Senator Beall’s commitment to the issue and asserts that reform must be inextricably tied to reform.
