Turning Red Tape Into Red Carpet Spotlight: City of Anaheims
Every year, OCBC honors public agencies for the good work they do to cut through red tape and remove barriers to economic development through its Turning Red Tape Into Red Carpet Awards program, sponsored by JPMorgan Chase. The City of Anaheim won the 2017 award for Business and Retention and Expansion with their Code Streamlining and Improvement Program. In order to reduce the regulatory burden on existing and prospective throughout the city, the Anaheim Planning and Building Department evaluate and amend the Zoning Code on a continuous basis in response to market and business trends. Over the past five years, this program has implemented numerous zoning code amendments to relax development standards, create flexibility, provide clarity, and streamline the development process.
